Learning psychology has always been one of my goals. Taking this course has undoubtedly taken me one step ahead towards my dream. I understood that learning this subject will help you discover yourself within. It will also help you understand people and most importantly human behavior. You start analyzing everything around you from different point of views. Studying the different cognitive disorders and mental disorders make you aware of what a person could possible suffer from. Bottom line, it gives you a clear understanding of human nature. According to the IB learner's profile, I became a better thinker and an inquirer. I began asking myself questions, and that drove the energy in me to learn further in this course.
In this last module, we learned about anxiety and mood disorders, including the various subtypes, their general prevalence and how they are diagnosed and treated. We learned how to help our friends and family when they are mentally disturbed. Behaving as though you are happy makes you feel happy inside as well. 90% of the people smile back at you when you smiles at them. That creates a positive feeling inside you. Empathizing with a person when he or she is facing a problem and talking about a similar issue that you have faced, helps them build some self esteem. I screwed up the last question and so only scored 80% on this assessment.

In the third module, we learned about understanding and diagnosing psychopathology. We mainly focused on stressors and how to cope up with them. I could correlate the learning with my life as well since I happen to be a person who gets stressed out easily. Hence, this part of the course was quite interesting and fascinating to learn about. This time, i scored 80% in the first two attempts and then 100% in the third. Probably, I made the same silly mistake twice.

Since I couldn't concentrate on the course during the week days, I did the next module today, again at one stretch. This module introduced the very subjective matter of psychology. It took me into the core of it. Oh! I can't forget my instructor. Andrew Francis, an academic and practicing
psychologist (and medical herbalist) with more than 25 years of
experience in the field, in an associate professor at the RMIT university. I appreciate the way he taught each and every topic very thoroughly. In this module, I learned the actual biological framework for human behavior by learning the structure and functions of neurones and the different types of nervous systems. This time, I got 60% in the first attempt and scored a full on the second try!

I've always wanted to learn the basics of psychology ever since I got into middle school. It somehow intrigued me. Learning the nature of human behavior and the essence of human thoughts was always one of my goals. Yesterday, while I was surfing through www.open2study.com (A website that provides free on line courses from various universities in Australia), I found this course called 'Foundations of Psychology' and immediately enrolled for it. I then typed a CAS proposal, as that is the first step to carry out a CAS experience. Today morning, I took my proposal the CAS coordinator and the DPC to get the approval. Much to my happiness, both of them liked the idea of doing an on line course and signed the proposal. As soon as I came home, I logged in and began with the first module. The course comprises of 4 modules, out of which each contains around 10 videos, 10 quizzes and one final assessment. Since the course officially began on the 21st of March, I had to catch up with my classes. So I finished module 1 at a stretch in 2 hours today. I learnt about the mind-body relations discovered by different scientists, the different perspectives of psychology, and the building blocks of the nervous system. However, it didn't seem stressful at all. It was very interesting and fascinating. Each assessment has 3 attempts. I got 60% in the first 2 attempts and managed to score 100% in the third one!
